Ending your trip
The “Checkout” button becomes active 2 hours before your trip ends and remains active for 12 hours after your trip concludes. Ensure you check out within this 12-hour window to upload any post-trip pictures of your rental.
If you fail to check out in time, the trip will automatically conclude, and you won’t be able to add post-trip photos.
Clean up before returning the car
Before returning the car to your host, make sure to tidy up. While the vehicle doesn’t need to be spotless, returning it in a state that shows irresponsible use may lead to a violation fee. Severe violations could even result in the removal of your account from Tarlen.
Fuel up
Before returning the car to your host, make sure to top up the fuel to the level it was at when your trip started. If you forget, your host may request reimbursement for the refuel, and charge an additional service fee. Keep things smooth and easy by returning the car the same way you received it!
Check-out
The check-out process is as important as the check-in process on Tarlen. It allows you, as the primary renter, to document the rental’s condition and provide proof of the vehicle’s state at the end of your trip.
All trip management must be done through the Tarlen mobile app.
Step 1
Just as you did during pick-up, upload pictures to show the car's condition.
Step 2
Input the odometer reading/mileage.
Input the fuel gauge reading/level.
Upload an image of the dashboard showing the details above.
Step 3
End the trip and rate your host and their vehicle.
