Contacting your Host

Contacting your Hosts is as simple as sending them a quick message on Tarlen after booking your trip. You cannot send a message to your Host if you haven't booked a trip.

You must first book a trip to ask your Host questions about their vehicle. Every information you'll need from them before booking their vehicle is already displayed on their vehicle details page, including the vehicle specification, price, mileage, delivery offer and availability.

Does your host hold your deposit

  • Tarlen holds your deposit as a surety until you have returned the vehicle.

  • The Host is not aware of the deposit and does not handle it.

  • Deposits are refunded by Tarlen 72 hours after your trip ends, unless reimbursements for extra mileage, fuel, or late returns are requested by the Host.

  • Refer questions about deposits to the support team at [email protected]

Sending a message to your Host

To send a message to your Host after booking their vehicle;

  1. Navigate to the “Trips” tab on the app.

  2. Under “Upcoming Trips,” select the relevant trip.

  3. Switch from the "Details" view to "Messages".

  4. Type out your messages and hit Send.

When you have initiated communications with your Host or after they've sent you a message. You can access your messages by navigating to the "Chat" page, select your Host's name and send a message or reply to their messages.

To send pictures;

  1. click on the (+) button in the chat screen.

  2. Accept the prompt to allow app access to your gallery.

  3. Send pictures like in any messaging app.

Warning:

Keep all communication within the Tarlen app. This ensures there’s a record of your conversation to help resolve disputes if needed.
