What should I do when my ID verification fails

There are situations where your verification might fail or where we’ll need to reach out to you to request additional information.

This may happen if the document you submitted isn't clear enough, the details you provided don’t match the database, you submitted incomplete information, or if we need further clarification. In some cases, we may request a clearer photo of your documents or a follow-up verification step to ensure the safety and security of our platform.

If this happens, we’ll notify you and guide you through the next steps to complete your verification. Please be aware that if you’re unable to provide the necessary information or if there are any issues with your background check, we may not be able to approve your account.

Additional information;

We may request for any or all of the following information;

  • Additional pictures of your driver's license document.

  • A selfie of you holding your driver's license beside your face.

  • Your passport if your driver's license was issues outside of South Africa.

  • Your flight or travel information if you're visiting temporarily.

  • Your proof of address if you're a permanent resident.

Rest assured, any information you provide will never be shared with other Tarlen users.

Tips to speed up the approval process;

  1. Don't submit scanned copies of the driver's license or passport. Submit the photos to confirm you have your documents in your possession.

  2. Take clear photos of your ID. Blurry or filtered photos will not be accepted.

  3. Ensure all the corners and sides of your ID are visible in your photo.

  4. Make sure the photo is focused, and avoid using your flash when you take the photo.
